The Illinois Saxophone Quintet will present a concert recital on Sunday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue on the campus of ÑÇÖÞÉ«Çé. The performance is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature transcriptions of Bach, Satie, Fibich, Poldini, Brahms, Lowery, Hahn, Beethoven and Mozart for piano, organ and string works. Some of the compositions are from the ISQ’s CD recording “The Illinois Saxophone Quintet,” released last spring.

The ISQ is led by ÑÇÖÞÉ«Çé saxophone professor and quintet co-founder Keith Zimmerman. It is composed of some of his former ÑÇÖÞÉ«Çé students, including Corey Burns, a web designer; Daniel Young, a middle school social studies and science teacher and high school golf coach; Matthew Winkler, a pharmacist; and Russell Zehr, a music store woodwind specialist and Baptist church minister. The quintet remains the only saxophone group of its kind since its founding in 1972.
