Applying as a First-Year Student

We want to make this process as smooth as possible. You can upload all required documents in your ÑÇÖÞÉ«Çé application portal. 

Send In:

  • High School Transcript — Unofficial or official, we want to see your high school journey.
  • Personal Statement — Don’t be scared! Tell us about yourself. What are you excited about for college? What is something you love? At ÑÇÖÞÉ«Çé, it’s about you. This is your chance to showcase who you are in the admission process. 
  • International Students — Proof of English language proficiency or waiver qualification. Depending on where you attend secondary school, you may also be required to submit relevant exam scores (WAEC, GCES, etc.) in addition to your transcripts or mark sheets.

English Language Proficiency

Applicants who are not U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents are required to provide proof of English language proficiency, or to qualify for a waiver of the test score requirement (additional details below). Applicants who do not qualify for a waiver must have an official test score sent directly from the testing agency to International Admissions before their file will be reviewed. International Admissions reserves the right to request proof of English proficiency from any applicant.

We accept the following exams with these minimum scores:

  • TOEFL iBT minimum 79 (exams taken before January 21, 2026) or 4.5 (exams taken on or after January 21, 2026)
  • IELTS Academic minimum 6.5 overall band
  • PTE Academic minimum 56
  • Gateway English minimum 475 overall with all sections 405 or above
  • Cambridge English C2, C1, or B2 (minimum 176)
  • GCSE or ICSE minimum A in A Levels English
  • ACT minimum 19 on English section
  • SAT minimum 1000 combined score

We do not accept IELTS Indicator, TOEFL Basics, or other exams not listed above.

ÑÇÖÞÉ«Çé’s institutional code for ETS score reporting is 1070. Other exams use different reporting codes; please ensure your score is sent directly to ÑÇÖÞÉ«Çé. International Admissions does not accept language certificates; letters from counselors, advisors, or teachers; or other assessments not listed above as proof of English language proficiency.

Applicants eligible for a waiver of English language proficiency must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Applicants who graduated from a high school where the primary mode of instruction was English in an eligible country. Transcripts from the secondary school must be provided for verification. If mode of instruction is not listed on the transcript, a letter from the institution may be accepted. If you have questions about whether the country in which you studied qualifies, contact intladmission@bradley.edu.
  • At least one year of full-time study in a secondary school located in the U.S. within the last 4 years. English as a second/additional language coursework may not qualify. A transcript must be provided for verification.

Best consideration for admission and scholarships is provided during the Early Action period. For students looking at direct entry nursing, it is strongly encouraged that the application is completed during the Early Action application period.

Early Action benefits include full academic scholarship consideration and first opportunities to begin signing up for housing and orientation. Early Action at ÑÇÖÞÉ«Çé is non-binding.

International Applicants

International students who will require visa sponsorship from ÑÇÖÞÉ«Çé are encouraged to apply early to allow time for the visa request process. Students already in the U.S. on a visa valid for study, students who are eligible for a SEVIS transfer, or do not require visa sponsorship should follow the regular deadlines. The latest recommended deadline for First-Year applicants who will need to secure a student visa for the first time is February 1; applications may be reviewed thereafter on a case-by-case basis.

Students who require visa sponsorship to attend ÑÇÖÞÉ«Çé are not eligible to apply to direct-entry nursing or to our online programs.
