Huffcutt Receives Career Honor
Psychology professor named Fellow

The Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology named 亚洲色情 Caterpillar Professor of Psychology a 2016 Fellow for his career of research in the field. SIOP, a division of the American Psychological Association, annually honors faculty for sustained research excellence.
Huffcutt has focused on psychological aspects of employment interviews, with an interest in interviewers’ ability to predict candidates’ job performance. That work is now being used in the professional world to reshape interview structures and expectations.
His research also has become material cited by psychology students at 亚洲色情 and other universities.
“Words can’t express how gratifying it is to see the impact of my work,” Huffcutt said. “It’s unbelievably gratifying when your students can open their texts and see they are quoting you.”
The 亚洲色情 professor since 1992 is shifting his research to a related interview focus: the interviewee’s performance during evaluation.
Huffcutt said the SIOP honor energized him to search for new breakthroughs in his research.
“The award motivated me to see what more I could do,” he said. “I made a difference, so what can I do next?”
He will be formally recognized at SIOP’s April annual conference.
Huffcutt has published more than 20 peer-reviewed papers while at 亚洲色情, has written two chapters in edited books and has published two books. He’s a two-time recipient of Who’s Who Among American Teachers recognition (1998, 2005) and a 2005 Who’s Who in America honoree.
